Load capacity and application of plastic pallets Company news     Release time:2024-06-21

The Pallet Professional Committee of the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing conducted a survey in September 2002 on more than 300 production, transportation, warehousing, and distribution enterprises in four major cities: Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. Starting from the current situation, existing problems, and how to solve them, the committee conducted a specific understanding and analysis of the use of pallets in China. This work is conducive to strengthening coordination and guidance of the pallet industry, and also provides valuable information and suggestions for logistics management departments and related enterprises.

⑴ Material of existing pallets

The preliminary investigation by the Pallet Professional Committee of the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing shows that China currently has about 50-70 million pallets of various types, with an annual increase in production of about 20 million pallets. Among them, wooden flat pallets account for about 90%, plastic flat pallets account for 8%, and steel pallets, composite material pallets, and paper pallets account for a total of 2%. Composite flat pallets and plastic pallets have a higher proportion of rise.

⑵ Standards and main specifications

Currently, the specifications of pallets in China are quite chaotic. In addition to the use of 800mm x 1000mm and 500mm~800mm pallets specified in JB3003-81 in the mechanical industry system, in 1996, the Chinese Academy of Transportation and Communications proposed to adopt ISO6780:1988 "Main Dimensions and Tolerances of General Flat pallets for Intermodal Transport" as the national standard for pallets in China. In the future, the former National Technical Supervision Bureau approved and published this equivalent standard under the GB/T2934-1996 standard series number, which includes four tray specifications: 1200mm x 1000mm, 1200mm x 800mm, 1140mm x 1140mm, and 1219mm x 1016mm.

Pallet stacking

1. Hard rectangular goods such as wooden, paper, and metal containers are stacked in a single or multiple layered staggered manner, and packaged with stretch or shrink film;

2. Single layer or multi-layer stacking of paper or fiber goods, sealed with cross ties;

3. Sealed metal containers and other cylindrical goods are stacked in single or multiple layers, with wooden cargo covers reinforced;

4. Paper products and textile goods that require moisture-proof, waterproof, and other protective measures should be stacked in a single or multiple layer staggered manner. Stretch or shrink film packaging should be used to increase corner support for goods, and reinforcement structures such as cargo cover partitions should be added;

5. Fragile goods can be stacked in single or multiple layers, with the addition of wooden support partition structures;

6. Cylindrical containers like metal bottles or goods are stacked vertically in a single layer, and the cargo frame and Flat noodles reinforcement structure are added;

7. Bag goods are stacked in multiple layers, staggered and compacted.
